Welcome to the Alabama Bandmasters Association! Whether this is your first year teaching or your first year teaching in Alabama, we are excited to welcome you.
Getting Started/Registration
Step 1: Join the National Association for Music Education in order to become a member of the Alabama Music Educators Association and the Alabama Band Directors Association.
– Click this link to be directed to their website: https://nafme.org/
– Once there, click “Join/Renew” at the top of the page.
– Scroll to the “Join NAfME” section. Click “Join Now.”
– Scroll to “Active Alabama” section. Click “Select.”
– Use the “Create Account” section to begin registration.
Once you have completed registration, you can view your profile. Under the “My Info” section, you will be provided a Membership Number. This number will be used to register on the Alabama Bandmasters Association in the next section!
Step 2: Register on the Alabama Bandmasters Association Website
If you are reading this page, you have already found our website!
Click “Register” at the top of the page. You will need your NAfME Membership Number in order to complete the registration.
Please make sure that the email address you use is one you check frequently. This is the primary method of communication.
Step 3: Explore the Website
Make sure you are logged into the website because some information and resources are hidden for members only.
Each section in the header has multiple resources and information.
You can find the Bylaws and Board Policy under the “About” section of the website. The Bylaws will answer the majority of questions concerning rules and regulations for events. If you are unable to find an answer in the bylaws, reach out to your mentor, District Chairman, or District Vice Chairman.
The District Pages offer information, dates, and deadlines for District Level Events. If you are unsure of which District you are in, the districts are listed by county on page 18 of the Bylaws
