Request to Perform a Composition Not On the ABA Cumulative Music List

This form is submitted electronically to the ABA Vice-President. It must include a complete score and a recording of the selection, using attachments and web-links. The deadline (actual deadline-not a postmark deadline) to have this to the VP is the third Friday in January of the year you wish to perform the selection. Please note that this process is an exception that should only be used once a thorough review of the ABA Cumulative Music List has been exhausted. It is recommended that all band directors review: ABA Bylaws Article XVl. Alabama Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessment prior to submitting this request. Only one request will be considered per performing ensemble. Submit only one selection per request. You will receive a response in writing once a decision has been made. If the composition submitted has been published for at least one year or more it should be submitted to the Music Selection Committee for consideration to be permanently added to the ABA Cumulative Music List rather than as a one-year exemption sent to the ABA Vice-President.
