All State Chair placement results

Congratulations to you and your students for earning a spot in one of the 2024 Alabama All-State Bands! The hosts for each of the bands have a few reminders and attachments you can print for your students. You will only receive this ONE email with information for each of the bands this year.

Please read it thoroughly, and also either print the information or forward it to each of your students that are in any of the bands.

PLEASE NOTE THE NEW SCHEDULE.

Each of the band hosts will be using the Remind101 messaging platform before and during the event. We will use this to send reminders prior to and during the event, as well as for reminders of rehearsal times and details as we approach the concert. Please see the information below to sign up for each of the bands. There is a “Woodwind” class and a “Brass & Percussion” class for each band.

Each student should only sign themselves OR a parent up, not both.

1. ALL STUDENTS MUST BRING A STAND & pencil.

2. Brass players need to be prepared with mutes; your band host will send a Remind text with details for your band for mutes.

3. Students interested in playing piccolo should bring it with them. The ABA bylaws dictate that students will be asked in chair order for their interest in the piccolo spot for each band.

4. Remember your instrument and allaccessories you will need.

5. Please bring your own bottled water.

6. Remember your attire/uniform for the concert.

7. Students should arrive at rehearsals in time to warm-up briefly and be ready for a downbeat at the rehearsal start.

8. Rehearsals are closed to individuals other than the all-state participants, directors, and board members.

9. There will be no limit or tickets this year for the concerts.

10. Name tags will be in their chair at the first rehearsal and they will need to wear them for identification purposes.

11. No outside food is allowed in the Von Braun Center. There are many local restaurants / extended breaks to accommodate your lunch and dinner desires.

12. The Von Braun Center is a CASHLESS venue. Credit cards & digital payments are accepted.

13. Live-streaming will be available for those not in attendance; the link for these will be on www.alaband.org

14. The exhibits will open at 1:00 on Thursday! This gives the students some time to look through the hall two hours prior to their first rehearsal! (The music store vendors have been encouraged to sell folding stands.)
